Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs have not won the World Series since 1908. This year may mark the 100 seasons the Cubs did not win, but for many fans like myself, we believe this may bet the year. In this weekend's game, the Cub's clinched the National League central series which guarantees the team a spot in the playoffs which start in October. In this 2008 season, under the coaching of Lou Piniella, the cubs have won 94 games and lost 68. This record not only puts them in first place for the central division, but also first in the national league.

This season has been an exciting one from the start, but more and more as the playoffs have come closer and closer. On September 14, no hurricane would prevent Carlos Zambrano from throwing a no hitter, the first in his career and the first for the Cubs since 1972. The Cubs w
ere playing the Astros in Milwaukee since the hurricane in Texas prevented these teams from playing there. Signs are showing that this could be the year!
