Earth Day

Everyone seems to be trying to go green these days whether it be buying a hybrid car, using reusable grocery bags, or using more energy efficient products. April 22 was Earth Day, and people around the globe took action to save our earth. Interested in learning more about Earth Day, I researched some things I can do the help and I came upon a website whose goal is to make known to people how they can help the earth and become part of their organization. It is

The organization provides enviromental education and is trying to make green schools as just one part of their capaign. They have links where you can find events around you where people get together to save the earth which I might look into after researching this information. It is a good cause and every little action you take can make a difference.

Michael Phelps- Pictures Revealed of Marijuana

Yesterday, I got to school and sat in my english class when I heard people asking if the had seen the news that morning of the photo that was posted in a tabloid, "News of the World". What happened to the positive role model that everyone was cheering on this summer in the 2008 Beijing Olympics when Phelps was about to receive his 8th gold medal of that games, a world record? The picture was of Phelps smoking marijuana on which he commented, "I'm 23 years old and despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."

Even with Phelps' sincere apology, can his image of arguably the greatest athlete of all time ever be looked in the same way? Can my previous blog about Phelps still be looked at in the same manner? This video describes Phelps' apology.
